The big news this week for Indian advertisers comes from Google: ads in AI Mode are now rolling out in India. Here’s that and the other changes worth knowing about.
Today’s quick list:
- Google brings ads in AI Mode to India and nine other countries
- Google tests ads in follow-up questions in the US
- Meta’s latest results show ad prices are rising
- Pinterest opens its ad inventory to programmatic buyers
Google brings ads in AI Mode to India
Google announced on October 28 that ads in AI Mode, its conversational search experience, are expanding to 10 more countries: Australia, Canada, India, Kenya, Malaysia, New Zealand, Nigeria, Pakistan, the Philippines and Singapore. Brazil, Mexico and the UK are planned for later this quarter. Ads appear with a “Sponsored” label. (Google)
Google’s post doesn’t spell out which campaign types are eligible, and it doesn’t list any steps advertisers need to take. It links to a Google Ads help article for details.
What to do: Check Google’s help article linked from the announcement to see whether your campaigns are eligible. Make sure your landing pages and product information answer customer questions clearly, since AI Mode is built around longer, conversational searches.
Google tests ads in follow-up questions (US)
In the US, Google is also launching “multiturn” ads, which can appear when people ask follow-up questions in an AI Mode conversation, not just on their first search. (Google, Search Engine Roundtable)
What to do: Nothing yet for India-based campaigns, but it’s a sign of where search ads are heading. Ads will increasingly show up mid-conversation, not just at the top of a results page.
Meta’s results show ad prices are rising
Meta’s third-quarter results, released on October 21, showed advertising revenue of about $63 billion. Ad impressions rose 10% compared with a year earlier, while the average price per ad rose 14%. (Ad Tribe, Meta 10-Q filing)
What to do: Rising average ad prices across Meta are a good reason to make every rupee work harder this season. Focus on strong creative, tight tracking and warm audiences rather than simply raising budgets.
Pinterest opens its ads to programmatic buyers
Pinterest has launched Programmatic Deals, which let advertisers buy Pinterest display and video ads through demand-side platforms including Google Display & Video 360, Amazon DSP and Yahoo DSP. It’s available in North America, South America and Asia Pacific. (Marketing Dive, PPC Land)
What to do: This mainly matters for larger advertisers and agencies that already buy programmatically. Most small businesses can keep using Pinterest Ads Manager directly.
